As a breastfeeding mother who has been using this product for the past 2.5 months, I definitely not only recommend it, but would say it's the best out there and a must for anyone breastfeeding or pumping. I would also recommend you take this to the hospital with you because your nipples will be dry right away (after 1-2 feedings!). This cream is pretty thick, comes in a small tube (kind of like hand cream) and if you warm it up in your hands a little bit will become a perfect consistency. It protects wonderfully and in comparison to Medela's isn't yellow, it's the color of vaseline (just thinner consistency). It stays well on the nipple and protects your nipples until the next feeding. I use it right after each feeding (and pumping) and wear breast pads in my bra because it will leave a small oily residue on your clothes (warning). I HIGHLY recommend this. I would also say buy it from walmart - it's about the same price or Babys R US if Amazon's is backordered.

don't know how I'd have survived without itBy A. Libera
This product turned out to be a life saver! First few weeks of breasfeeding was a nightmare, my nipples were sore and painful and lanolin soothed them perfectly. Then I went back to work and started pumping and was constntly rubbing my nipples untill they bled. Again, I was applying lanolin after each pumping session and it made them all better. My child is now 9 months old and I know without lanolin I'd quit long time ago and here I am, still breastfeeding. Many women complain it's very thick and it's hard to squeeze it out of the tube and apply to the nipples, but I just kept it in my pant's pocket for 10-15 min before each use to warm it up. That made it more runny. Great thing is you don't have to wash it off before feeding your baby and I definitely recommend it for any nursing/ pumping mom.

Not only did I use this while I was breastfeeding with excellent results I now use it as diaper rash prevention. My 7 month-old has very sensitive skin and the zinc products are just too much for him however anything with less harsh ingredients just doesn't do the trick on the rash. Lanolin does. Lansinoh lanolin especially, it's thicker than most and stays in place when used during breastfeeding (be sure to use a breast pad though because it will stain your clothes/bra) and on baby's bum.
